"Seven Questions" for Car Maintenance and Lubricant Knowledge

1. Are all cars suitable for top-level synthetic oil?
Fully synthetic engine oil has very good performance and good fluidity. It has excellent resistance to high temperature in both winter and summer, and the oil change interval is long, which can protect the engine to the greatest extent. However, fully synthetic motor oil is not suitable for micro and small cars with tens of thousands of yuan. Economical cars with tens of thousands of yuan, because the engine processing accuracy is relatively low, and the gap sealing between the cylinder and the piston ring is not the most precise. It often appears on models with lower car prices, and a relatively viscous oil is required to seal between the cylinder and the piston ring. If a relatively dilute fully synthetic oil is used, the seal of this engine will be slightly Small problem, always feel powerless to open. And after parking, most of the fully synthetic will flow back to the oil pan, and the lubrication and sealing of the engine will be damaged. Therefore, after getting up and starting in the morning, the engine will suffer a lot of wear. If it is a relatively viscous medium-grade oil in this This problem will not occur in the engine. Therefore, fully synthetic oil is a good oil, but it is not suitable for low-cost economical car engines.

2. How to choose oil for a supercharged engine?
If you use an ordinary turbocharged car, it is enough to use the original engine oil, but if you brush the computer, please read the following paragraph: Because the turbocharger works too fast, any ball bearing can not withstand 100,000 per minute. Therefore, the main shaft is not connected by the ball bearing and the turbine body, but adopts a floating design. The main shaft is floating in the oil, and the extremely narrow space between the turbine body and the main shaft is filled with flowing oil. It has the function of lubricating, and can also take away impurities between the main shaft and the turbine, and play a role in heat dissipation. The problem lies here. Taking the Bora 1.8T as an example, the general speed of the original 0.38bar boost value is between 100,000-150,000 rpm, and the original oil is fully capable of supporting this speed and heat dissipation. But after brushing the computer, the boost value will skyrocket, and the turbine speed will also soar to 200,000-300,000 rpm. At this time, the first thing that cannot be carried is the original oil. Because the original oil is not a top-level fully synthetic oil, the oil is sticky. The consistency is high and the fluidity is poor, so when the main shaft rotates at an ultra-high speed, the oil cannot provide the proper lubrication and heat dissipation. Even some friends maintain outside, and the level of the oil is not even as good as the original oil. There will be a problem of burning oil, that is, the turbine is damaged as mentioned earlier. Fully synthetic oil is relatively thin, and has better lubrication and heat dissipation. After the turbine speed is increased, this thinner oil can flow 100% to the lubricated part, so many of the problems mentioned above will not occur.
3. Why are the oil change mileage different for different models?
This is the relationship between mineral oil and synthetic oil, as I said before. The general Japanese car models (car price less than 300,000 yuan), the original factory oil is generally mineral oil, the oil change cycle should not be too long, generally need to be replaced after more than 5,000 kilometers, medium and high-end Japanese cars (car price more than 300,000 yuan) Generally, semi-synthetic oil is used, so the oil change interval may be around 7500-10000 kilometers.
For German cars with a price of about 150,000 yuan, the original oil is basically semi-synthetic oil, so the natural oil change cycle will be 2,500 kilometers longer than that of Japanese cars of the same grade. The original engine oil of many German cars with a car price of more than 200,000 is fully synthetic, and the oil change cycle theory can exceed 10,000 kilometers.
4. Why do high-end cars burn oil a bit?
High-end cars generally use fully synthetic motor oil, and even many supercars use super racing motor oil with excellent fluidity. The better the fluidity of the oil, the thinner the viscosity. The advantages have been mentioned before. Another disadvantage is that because it is thinner, the proportion of the oil flowing into the combustion chamber from between the cylinder and the piston rings is also greater. Therefore, the oil consumption is naturally much higher than those of family cars.
It's unavoidable that high-end cars burn a little oil, unless you don't use high-end oil. However, if the consumption exceeds half a liter of oil every 2000 kilometers, it is also a problem, not a normal consumption.

5. Is it okay to just change the oil without changing the filter?
Oil not only lubricates, but also plays a very important role in taking away the dirt inside the engine. These dirt are filtered out by the machine filter. If the oil is changed without changing the machine filter, the dirt cannot be completely removed, so it is equal to There is no point in changing the oil. Changing the oil must change the filter, this is a dead rule.
6. The oil is all black after changing it?
The oil mainly lubricates various parts inside the engine, especially the lubrication of the piston and the cylinder wall is the most important. Here, the product of combustion is a dark gelatinous substance, so the oil has been discolored since it was injected into the engine on the first day of use. . However, the normal oil should be dark brown. If it is completely pure black, there is also a problem. It is likely that the oil change interval is too long.
7. What's the point of using engine oil all over the country?
In the northeast, Xinjiang, and Tibet regions, it is recommended to use relatively sparse low-temperature resistant 5W series oil. In extremely cold areas such as the Arctic and Antarctic circles, the engine oil will even use 0W series.
